My Dog Has a Cough and I’m a Flying Wallenda
Episode 10. Al Atkinson
On this very special episode of the podcast we are joined by Al Atkinson. Al and Matt's friendship goes back almost 20 years (back when Matt was fancy-free and still considering being a human neurologist). Matt and Al talk about their time performing improv comedy together, cans of ether, and kids these days.
Dr. Atkinson is a semi-retired general practice veterinarian who graduated from vet school all the way back in 1982 (otherwise known as 'the before times'). When he's not off exploring the world, he can be found picking up GP shifts in both Colorado and Southern California.
At First I Wanted to be a Unicorn
Episode 9. Margret Donahue
This week we are joined by Margret Donahue, who is far-too-qualified to be taking time out of her day to talk with us. Together we discuss having mice as roommates, her proficiency at gaming personality tests, and how darn awkward she is.
Dr. Donahue is a Board Certified Emergency and Critical Care Specialist as well as medical director of a specialty/ER hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Do I Use Physics Anymore?
Episode 8. Seth Williams
This week we welcome the sultry stylings of podcast extraordinaire: Seth Williams. Together we discuss not being popular, going with your gut, and getting feedback from your mother in law.

Haven’t Burned Out Yet
Episode 7. Amber Davidson

Was it Vindictive? Maybe.
Episode 6. Kerry Mead
On this episode, Matt sits down with Kerry Mead over mimosas to discuss plans for her children's futures, the sexiness of GP medicine, and how easy it is to get into vet school.
Kerry is a primary care veterinarian who has spent the last four years focusing on preventative and dental services, primarily with her current company, Pet Dental USA.
This podcast episode is the final and most impactful item on Kerry's Colorado bucket list. She now says she can die happy or move back to Arizona, whichever seems more dramatic.
Not a Peddler of Wares
Episode 5. William Hodges (part two)
On this episode, Bill / Will holds a quiet mutiny, overthrowing Matt as the host while continuing to sip on the same, flat, tepid cappuccino. They talk about expensive mushrooms, high school improv, and how everything in life is negotiable.
Gets To My Innards
Episode 4. William Hodges (part one)
On this episode, Matt sits down with Bowtie Bill Hodges ... for, like, a while. So long, in fact, that the coffee shop had to cut off Bill's WiFi just to get him to leave. Matt spends so much time bugging Will, they had to break their conversation up into two episodes (there's a pun in there which shall reveal itself in time). In part one, they discuss the luxurious tranquility of the ER, how they navigate ethical quandries, and that Will likes money.
Dr. Hodges is a relief emergency veterinarian living, though not practicing in, the Pacific Northwest.
The Chaos and the Mystery
Episode 3. Jennifer Paugh
On this episode, Matt is joined by the ineffable Jennifer Paugh. Together they discuss all the usual extra-curricular endeavors of the emergency veterinarian, including scuba diving, acupunture, and acro-yoga. Jen is an emergency veterinarian in Austin, TX; though her heart spends its evenings in Bali.
The Reward Center
Episode 2. Jonah Williams
On this episode, Matt sits down with Jonah Williams to discuss the usual stuff: traveling camel rides, improv comedy, and manufacturing confidence. Jonah is a relief veterinarian, primarily practicing emergency medicine at specialty hospitals in Maryland and Northern Virginia. One day Matt and Jonah will have a travel show wherein Jonah actually investigates something useful while Matt wanders off in search of empanadas.
